Riding holidays

k_18.jpg (20182 bytes) Hungary is an ideal location for riding. Noble mansions, gentry country houses, evocative farm houses, yurtas recalling the age of migrations and as real specialities, gypsy caravans - suitable for accommodation and wandering - are available to choose from for all those who want to spend their free time close to the nature. Horse lovers are welcome in inns that have their own stable. On many of the spots we can find a riding school that trains beginners an advanced riders as well. In many of these centres dressage, show jumping and cross country training go on at a high standard.

The most attractive about Hungary for all those looking for riding possibilities is the unrestricted cross-country ride: without limits in a great variety of terrains. If you are more attracted to a peaceful looking around and the discovery of the scenery, you can travel across the most beautiful areas of the country on two- or four-in-hand carriages.

Besides the horse and carriage riding, tennis, golf, water sports, fishing, hunting, biking and bird-watching will enrich the visitors’ programme. More adventurous guests can watch the group of their riding fellows from above: from a hang-glider or a hot-air balloon.

The Hungarian equestrian centres are also the temples of Hungarian gastronomy where you can taste the masterpieces of the Hungarian cuisine, just as well the delicious fruit of the Carpathian Basin, its rich fresh vegetables and some diet meals also appear on the varied menu. Just as Hungarian wines, the world famous apricot brandy (barackpálinka) of Kecskemét is also an important item of these accessories that press the guests to stay.
