Carriage driving schools

Some of the Hungarian world champions in carriage driving have opened carriage driving schools in the Kiskunság, Hortobágy, in Szilvásvárad, Tápiószentmárton and in several other parts of the country, and they pass on their knowledge and experience to those who want to learn how to ride a carriage. These schools train for single, two- and four-in-hand carriage driving.

During the one- or two-week-long courses students learn the ins and the outs of the Hungarian carriage driving school. In a week anybody who has no experience at all in carriage driving but loves horses can reach a level where he or she can put two horses to a carriage and ride along a marked part of a course or a field. In the meanwhile they learn about the equipment, tools used in carriage driving, get acquainted with the Hungarian methods of harnessing and carriage driving, and also they get an insight into the world of carriage driving competitions. At the end of the course students take part in a splendid house-race and a carriage driving tour. They receive a diploma on the completion of the course.
